Anyone can have herpes - that's a risk you take by having any sex at all. Condoms don't protect against herpes.

If he's poz, which it sounds like you're suggesting, then yeah, I get the worry but I assume he'll be undetectable and if you're on PrEP these things remove all risk. He's likely safer than some randomer who hasn't been tested for a few months.

The biggest thing to worry about is the hep.
