To whom it may concern: No one is forcing you to read what is below so don't come through bitching about "too much conversation" like you were just forced to read out loud to the class... ironically you'd be adding MORE conversation.

I'm sure (also hope) it's not a conscious policy. He seems like a sweet guy, but it's noticeably a trend. Obviously its not all white guys, and it's very much less than more of them, but when it is, it is. For many white people who don't just date other white people, it's a strange culture "relatability" thing that they adopted and may not even realize they're doing. They'll say "yea, I'm attracted to POC" but only end up dating Asian men, even if they aren't as choosey sexually. To some extent, they've picked-up America's hierarchy. The base of it is very similar to "hood" white people (for lack of a better word) who find the same attractive but unconsciously only ever find themselves dating "hood" Latino/Hispanic people. Not coincidence.

Many aren't aware of how often they actually reserve dating for certain "cultures" (inevitably race). It isn't with malicious intent, but what makes it casual racism is even imagining there is "enough" concrete association between race and culture for your attractions to find ANY race/culture "of better/relatable quality", even if just second-up to wanting someone with money. If money was his main priority in a partner, he'd be dating more across the board.

This is America, there are people from every race you can, and may be, be friends with, so why doesn't that not always a non-factor with romance/sex?... If not a straight up fetish for someone, caliber of character is usually the difference of one's consideration between those they date or just fuck. Well how is that character calibrated without knowing a person? What makes someone a potential partner, or better yet, what eliminates them from your consideration?... If it's your personal race, culture and community, very understandable why you possibly date that more (still not ONLY glares at problematic gay white boys), but if a racial dating trend across years/numbers appears that is not of your own culture and/or race, there is likely a preference born of racist society hidden in there. For me it's just unsettling as seeing non-black folks who clearly have a thing for only black folks. AGAIN, not explicit racism with ill intent as there is usually attraction and well-being behind dating someone, but it's for sure a very subtle level of racism. A level many likely have never given thought to.

Their circles aren't a main mix of white and Asian gay men by coincidence. Peoples attractions are very much reflected in their social lives, especially gay men. For whatever reason (smaller community, entitlement, white people taking the lead by force), the dynamics of American society are very amplified/noticeable within the gay community.

I'm definitely not here to attack him, as I obviously find him very sexy but this is just an observation I noticed among many white people and him. Just explaining how I came to my statement.

Hmmmm. Maybe you'd get the hint that it's a major part of POC queer experiences instead of complaining how inconvenient it is for you. That's the real toxic part. Then y'all wonder why it never goes anywhere and ends up bleeding into every area like this, leading you to further consider POC themselves more of the issue than your those carrying racial preferences (aka: you start finding them persistently obnoxious at any mention of race). Just because people may have also learned to say "fuck it" to move forward in their personal lives doesn't mean the problem is solved. POCs can still care to change it without it being a debilitating weight like it likely was at a younger age. It's really only our issue because so many people (mainly white) refuse to acknowledge it, let alone care to work through it, unless conditions are just right for them. Which is usually when they aren't horny. So for gay men, not often at all.

Many Asians practice much of the same btw. Those conversations just get redirected to the white guys they lust after, regardless of it being reciprocated or not. Racial preferences affect every POC on some level. So yea, you are what's wrong with gay culture. The numerous spaces for sex and fun aren't off limits just because you say so because those spaces are rarely free of such issues for POC themselves, which is something we also see right here very often unprovoked.
